It’s with great pleasure that netnea announces Franziska Bühler joining our team.

Franziska, also known as Fränzi, brings over 15 years of experience in application security engineering, with certifications in CISSP and CSSP. She has worked on ModSecurity and Apache alongside our very own Christian Folini at Swiss Post and later joined Puzzle as their first CISO. Most recently, she was a part of the WAF team at SBB (Swiss Federal Railways).

In the OWASP CRS community, Fränzi is highly regarded for her disassembly of the previous machine optimized regular expressions. She has contributed to over 120 pull requests for the project and has delivered exceptional talks at national and international security conferences. Her personal website, https://franbuehler.github.io, showcases her contributions to the field.

Starting October 2025, Fränzi will join Christian Folini and Simon Studer to strengthen our WAF and Web Application Security team at netnea. With three senior security consultants, we are proud to be one of the leading companies for ModSecurity and CRS consulting. Our team is well-equipped to handle integration questions, false positive tuning with the help of C-Rex, migrations from CRS 3 to CRS 4, scalable deployments, and custom rules to meet specific needs.

We are excited to have Fränzi on board and look forward to the valuable insights and expertise she will bring to our team.
